Welcome to the Teaching Studio of John Alvarado Music!

With two years of experience as a music educator, I have had the privilege of guiding numerous students on their musical journeys. Whether a beginner pianist exploring the instrument for the first time or an advanced player looking to refine your technique & expand your repertoire, I am here to help you achieve your goals.

My teaching approach is tailored to each individual student's needs, interests, & learning styles. I believe in creating a safe environment where students may be exposed to various ways of living a musical life. To accomplish this, I use a wide array of musical styles from diverse cultures, including classical masterpieces, jazz improvisations, hymns/sacred music, or popular songs. All the while, I adapt lessons to suit your musical preferences & aspirations.

During our lessons, we will cover various aspects of piano playing, including proper hand position, technique, music theory, sight-reading, ear training, & interpretation. We will explore a rich musical vocabulary & develop a well-rounded musical foundation to build a life of music-making. As your piano teacher, my goal is not only to help you become a proficient pianist but also to nurture your creativity, boost your confidence, & instill a lifelong love for music. Whether your dream is to perform on stage, compose your own music, or simply play for personal enjoyment, I will provide you with the tools, guidance, & inspiration to help you succeed.

I offer both in-person lessons in-studio & in-home in the Metro-Atlanta area, providing flexibility & convenience for students. Whether you prefer face-to-face interaction in another setting or the convenience of learning from the comfort of your own home, I am committed to delivering high-quality instruction & personalized attention.

Thank you for considering John Alvarado Music to be a part of your musical journey. I invite you to listen to some of my playing examples while browsing which lesson you’d like to book.
